Memorial Day #3

May 30, 2011

Memorial Day 2009:

Michael and I had been officially dating for one month.

We were so excited to have a whole day to spend together so we decided to drive up to McCall, ID to enjoy our time together. The weather was perfect, the lake was beautiful, and we had a marvelous time.

It was the first day we said “I love you.”

Memorial Day 2010:

We had been married for six months by now!

We decided to continue our tradition and drive up to McCall again. It was cloudy and drizzly but we didn’t let it spoil our day. We found a great place for lunch and shared some amazing creme brulee.

Memorial Day 2011:

Married for a year and a half, together for over two years!

Now living 2,000 miles away in Indiana! Of course we could not make it to McCall again this year but as it was our 3rd Memorial Day together we knew we had to continue the tradition no matter where we were. So we went for a drive through Southern Indiana and though we never found a town that was quite like McCall, we saw lots of fun and exciting things. This is us at the Living Pioneer Village at Spring Mill State Park. It was so cool!

The weather was really, really hot today though. Welcome to Indiana summers, right? It was at least 90 all day and very humid. So we didn’t get too many great pictures, but we still managed to have a great time.

We tried to find a cute local¬†restaurant for lunch but all the places in the small towns we drove through were closed for the holiday! So we ended up eating at an Arby’s but it was just as fun. I am so lucky to have a wonderful husband to share these adventures with and I am so happy we are starting traditions we can continue throughout our lives.
