Home after Sister’s Weekend: Worn Out with an Empty Wallet!

May 4, 2010

Well, I’m back from my first Sister’s Weekend and first trip to Vegas. And boy, am I tired. Still! But I had a great time. A huge thank you to all my sisters-in-law that helped take care of me, the newbie! I definitely felt the love. I am so lucky to have married into such a great family. And I had so much fun getting to know more of the sisters that live out of town who I haven’t seen since the wedding. What a fun time!

Las Vegas Baby

One thing we discovered is how attached to me 10-mnth-old Charlotte has become. Since I started watching her and Sally’s other kids, we’ve noticed that she would scream with jealousy whenever I would pick up her cousin Hattie. Well, this weekend it got to where she would scream for me to pick her up every time I walked into a room! That was pretty funny. The sad thing is, after we move this summer she probably won’t even remember me anymore, which is sad because I’ve grown so attached to her too.

The weekend also included lots of shopping, eating, sightseeing on the strip, and my first pedicure! I was really happy that by the time we left I could name almost all the casinos. I hope someday we get the chance to go back and take a peek into all of them. Their architecture and designs are all so unique and impressive! It was so fun to see all of that. My first impression of the strip was that it reminded me of a fair like the Cherry Festival we have in Emmett. The smell of cigarette smoke, the loud noises, the crush of tons of people, and all the bright lights everywhere. It was like a fair on a much larger scale.

I had a great time and I’m so glad I was able to go! It’s really good to be back home with  my husband, even though it is kind of hard to get back to real life. Now I’m really starting to miss my own sisters, and I’m thinking we need to have our own Sister’s Weekend soon! Except maybe this time Michael will come too!

I’m so glad you could come. It was a lot of fun getting to know you better and seeing how lucky Mike is to have you for a wife, and especially lucky for us to have another fun sister-in-law. And, unfortunately, we all come home with empty wallets. But we always have a ton of fun!
